I agree...Prue was way to bitchy. Then again I watched her on Beverly Hills 90210, and didn't like her much there either. Paige can bug me but her cuteness, and eagerness to do good makes up for it.

Was reading through the threads and saw this one....at first, I thought I would be the only one disagreeing, but now feel better....

Prue way, (read: WAY) outclasses paige.

Yes, she was bitchy and agressive. It part of what was written into the character. Paige is so wishy washy, it makes me want to puke. Aside from that, rose mcgown was the worst choice they could have made. She brought an element of sleaze to the show, that just disgusted me.

However, being a fan, I stuck it out and watched the show for a while. I figured that since I sat through the entire Alissa Milano Show (read: the whole cole thing) that I could stick it through and deal with paige.

I watch it on re-runs during drama in the AM, only because it is either that, or some inane gorgeous aerobics chick trying to make me believe I should be thin, or one of the insulting talk shows that predominate the airtime.

Someone else said that piperhas taken over the bitchy older sister role, and they are correct. I love Holly. There is very little (read: kill someone, injure someone, anything with drugs, etc) that I would not do for her, if she showed up here and asked me to. But the whole whiney Leo becoming an elder thing, just irriated me worse than sand in private areas, after a day at the beach.....but I was able to deal with it, because Holly, is Holly. :)

I know that the producers, and writers, and others that Shannon had issues with culd not resolve them, so they killed her off and replaced her with paige. But honestly, they could have done a much better job with it......

Sorry....that kind of got into a little bit of a rant....something I didnt necessarily want to do on my first post to the tribe.....but killing prue off, and replacing her with a sleazy, slutty, can't act to save her butt, rose mcgown....has always been a thorn in my side.....

I always liked Pru better. I agree SD is pretty full of herself, but that is what made her character so great. She was the strongest onset. I never liked Paige at all. She was never sure of herself and I thought her powers were pretty lame except for the orbing was pretty cool.

Well I just joined because i watched Charmed a few hour ago and felt like discussing it. This seems to be a common topic among the charmed fan universe. I Personaly HATED Prue's when i first got into the show, and i think it is partly because i got into the show during the fith season, So i didint even know that a sister had died until i learned of her existence. I also disliked her because i thought the show totally focused on her to much and not to my surprise i found out that Shanned Doherty DEMANDED that she always be the main focus on the show even when episodes were supposed to revolve arround other characters. Also while it has nothing to do with the character I disliked Shanned because of her little tiff with Alyssa Milano. (she had always been my favorite out of the four). Since i began watching Charmed when Paige was around i naturally liked her better (although i had some vague memories of watching it back in 98).

I caught up to the whole series thanks to TNT and their airings so when i saw all three seasons with Prue i saw that it was a WHOLE different dynamic, almost like watching a different show. I personaly liked it a lot though i still liked Paige better. I think that the storylines in the earlier episodes were much better despite Prue not being all that great to me. Part of the reason the later seasons turned out to be........not so great i think might have had to do with the production budget being drasticaly cut. We no longer had the cool non-human looking demons, and a lot of the effects seemd superfake.

As far as powers between the two go I think most can agree that Paige's powers TRUMP Prue's wether you like Paige or not, even though Piper's powers have always been my favorite despite Pheobe being my favorite character. Personality wise Paige and Prue are almost on the same level to me now that i see it more clearly (i still like Paige better ^^). I liked yet disliked Prue's agrresive personality But i have always liked Paige's demeanor (though sometimes Rose displayed some......questionable acting). I wish i knew where the show would have headed if Prue was never killed off. I dont know wether it would have lasted as long or if we would still be watching new episodes today. One thing i didint like was that after Prue was killed off no footage of episodes featuring her was showed in later episodes, You either saw the back of her head (which wasant even Shannen, it was another woman recreating the scene) or we saw footage in which Prue was not shown. The closest we saw to that was seeing Dog-Prue. That was thanks to Miss Pompous, Arrogant, Superbitch herself. (Shannen still owned 5% of Charmed and refused to allow her face or voice to be feaured.)

All-in-all I love the show wether i see Episodes with Paige Or Prue. I loved all seasons...actually i only really liked 1-6. Seasons 7 and 8 were a little BLEH! 7 was somewhat tolerable but 8..................it was that HORRIBLE BILLIE character, I seriously hate everything about her. It bothered me a that they would put her in and take Deryll and Leo (for the most part.) off for that season. She was such an unnecesary character..........-_-


So to end this seemingly pointless rant i will rank the two sisters

Prue gets an 7 out of 10 while Paige gets an 8.5 in my book. ^^
